PwnCNC's ATC Components

When you receive your ATC System, the first thing you'll want to do is to inventory all the parts.

Note:  If you've purchased the upgrade and the item is not included in your ATC System Upgrade shipment... you'll be reusing that component from your current PwnCNC Spindle System.

 

1. ATC Motor

* Our ATC motors are offered in either 1.5kw 110v or 2.2kw 220v variants.

 

2. VFD (Variable Frequency Drive)

* Our patent-pending VFD Enclosure means wires plug in quickly and easily.

 

3. PE (Pneumatics Enclosure)

* Our patent-pending PE Enclosure allows plug-n-play functionality for the ATC's pneumatic components.

 

4. Spindle Cable H20 - 5-meters

 

5. Spindle Cable H20 Extension 2-meters (Optional)

* Sometimes 5-meters is just not long enough, purchase this extension cable separately to extend your Spindle Cable easily.

 

6. Motor Sensor Cable 5-meters 

 

7. Motor Sensor Extension Cable 2-meters (Optional)

* Paired perfectly with the spindle cable extension, purchase this extension cable to extend your Motor Sensor Cable.

 

8. ATC Control Cable 4-meters

* This wire is used to connect the PE with your CNC Controller.  Not every CNC Controller is ATC-capable, if it is this cable is required.

 

9. ATC Control Inlet (Optional, but included)

 

* If your CNC is already equipped with the 5-pin ATC inlet port, then you can set this aside.  If not, then use this to prepare your ATC-capable CNC controller for our plug-n-play ATC setup.

 

10. MTC Button/Cable 6-meters

* If you wish to manually control your tool-changing operation, this button is where all the magic happens.  Use of this button is optional if you only wish to perform automatic tool changes via your CNC's controller (if it's ATC capable).

 

11. Safety/RUN Cable 2-meters

* If you don't plan to use the MTC, there is no need to use this wire. However if you plan to use the MTC Button, this safety wire is required to be run between the VFD and PE.

 

12. Tube-Side Kool Connectors

* Our ATC motors come standard with our custom designed Kool Connectors, these are female tube-side connectors you'll add onto your cooling system tubes for the perfect no-leak connections.

 

13. Cooling System (Required, but sold separately)

* We offer two different types of cooling systems.  The one pictured is our most basic which is a submersible pond pump and tubing.  More advanced option includes a CW-3000 Chiller.

 

14. 4pc ISO20 Tool Holders

* 4pc are included, however you can purchase more... your only limitation is where you can physically place it on your CNC bed.

 

15. Tool-Holder Racks (screws required but not included)

* There are countless number of tool rack options and we are always designing more.  If you have an idea you'd like to try, we're happy to assist with development.

 

16. ISO20 Wrenches

* One wrench is used to hold the tool-holder while the other is for turning the nut.

 

17. Collets

* Each Spindle System will come with 3 collets sized to your particular motor (either ER11 or ER20).  

** Remember to "snap" the collet into the nut so it properly seats and holds your bit securely.  We discuss it in another KB article here.

*** Additional collet nuts are also available on our store.

 

18. 8mm Air Inlet Tubing 3-meters w/quick connector

* Pneumatic Quick connector.  Be sure you're using an air-dryer to protect the various pneumatic components.  Although overkill, this drying system is what we use on our production ATC-equipped CNC Machine.  

** Air Compressor not included but required.

 

19. (2) 6mm Air tubing 6-meters each.   Including Y connector.

* Two 6mm tubes run between the ATC Motor and PE.  At the motor, one of these tubes split into two since the motor has 3 air inlet connections.  One for tool changes, while the other two are for dust clearing.

 

20. VFD/PE Wall Mounting Parts (screws required but not included)

* VFD/PE mounts with a french-cleat style plastic part that's included with your kit.

21. IoT Plug (2-conductor wire and IoT Power Strip optional and sold separately)

* Adding an IoT Power Strip will let you automatically turn on/off your cooling system and even extraction system.
 

22. 80mm Spindle Mount and Adapter Plate (Optional and sold separately)

* Your CNC machine may already have an 80mm spindle mount, however there are several out there where 80mm is not available.  We're here to help with that.
