Your new Spindle Kit is fully programmed for automatic control but also has a “Manual Override” switch which lets you run your spindle in manual mode via the VFD’s keypad controls.
If you’d like to run your spindle in manual mode, flip the “Manual Override” switch up or “1” to enable VFD Keypad controls. Then use the Run/Stop and Potentiometer dial on the front of your VFD to run your motor.
To Enable Automatic Control:
From the Masso’s main user interface, go to the “F1 Setup” tab and double-tap “Main Spindle”. Then enter the following information: Encoder: 100, Spindle Control Method: VFD, Maximum RPMs: 24000, Spin UP: 6000, and Spin DOWN: 6000.
Then hit OK and return to the “F2 Program & MDI” screen for testing/validation.
With your manual override button on the VFD down, pressing the blank space next to Spindle CW and typing 6000, then pressing Spindle CW, will turn the Spindle on at 6000 RPM.
You can also go into the MDI dialog your by pressing the MDI button in the lower right and typing M36000. M5 will turn it off.
