Before installing anything, take a few minutes to verify what you received.

This article covers all PwnCNC spindle products in one place. Depending on what you purchased, some items will differ slightly. Look for the callout sections below that match your order:

  • Spindle Kit

  • Spindle System

  • ATC System

If anything appears missing or damaged, contact us before proceeding with installation.

Shared Components (Included With All Systems)

Every PwnCNC spindle product includes the following core components:

1. Spindle Motor

Air-cooled or water-cooled, depending on your order.
Rated 1.5kW or 2.2kW.

• ER11 (65mm) or ER20 (80mm) for manual tool change
• ISO20 taper for ATC systems

📷 Photo Suggestion:
Line up the three motor types side-by-side (65mm ER11, 80mm ER20, ISO20 ATC) with labels.

2. Delixi EM61 VFD

All PwnCNC spindle products use the same EM61 VFD platform.

The VFD is:

  • Pre-programmed for your spindle model

  • Tested with a motor before shipment

  • Configured with safe acceleration and protection settings

3. Spindle Power Cable

Shielded cable with aviation connector (motor side).

  • Spindle Kits come with flat spade connector on the VFD side
  • Spindle and ATC Systems come with an aircraft connector on the VFD side

4. Controller Cable

Used to connect your CNC controller to the VFD for automatic RPM control.

The exact termination depends on what you ordered.

  • Spindle Kits come with generic ferrule connectors on the VFD side
  • Spindle and ATC Systems come with a GX12 aircraft connector on the VFD side

5. Basic Collets

Manual spindle systems include standard ER11 or ER20 collets.
ATC systems include ER20 collets that can be installed into the four included ISO20 tool holders.

Now let’s break down what differs by product type.

🔹 If You Purchased a Spindle Kit

A Spindle Kit includes:

  • Bare Delixi EM61 VFD (not enclosed)

  • Spindle motor

  • Shielded motor cable

  • Controller signal cable (terminated appropriately)

  • Basic collets

This option is ideal if:

  • You are building your own enclosure

  • You are comfortable wiring mains power

  • You prefer to integrate electronics yourself

⚠️ You are responsible for mounting and protecting the VFD inside an enclosure.

📷 Photo Suggestion:
Show the non-enclosed EM61 VFD next to the enclosed version for comparison.

🔹 If You Purchased a Spindle System

A Spindle System includes everything from the Kit, plus:

  • VFD installed inside our plug-and-play enclosure

  • Pre-wired AC input

  • Integrated aircraft connectors

  • External control ports

  • IoT port

This version eliminates enclosure wiring and reduces installation complexity.

You simply:

  • Mount the enclosure

  • Plug in AC power

  • Connect the motor cable

  • Connect your controller cable

📷 Photo Suggestion:
Show closed enclosure and open enclosure view to highlight internal wiring cleanliness.

🔹 If You Purchased an ATC System

An ATC System includes:

  • ISO20 ATC spindle motor

  • EM61 VFD (in enclosure)

  • Pneumatics Enclosure (PE)

  • ATC control cable

  • (4) ISO20 tool holders with matching ER collets

  • Tool holder racks (flush style)

Additional requirements (not included):

  • Air compressor

  • Air dryer / moisture separator

  • Extra tool holders if expanding tool count

📷 Photo Suggestion:

Lay out:

  • ATC spindle

  • VFD enclosure

  • Pneumatics enclosure

  • Tool holders

  • Tool racks

Clear overhead layout shot works best here.

What Is Not Included

To avoid confusion:

• CNC controller
• Air compressor (ATC only)
• Air dryer (ATC only)
• Dust boot
• Mounting bracket (unless ordered)
• Electrical circuit wiring

Before You Continue

Once you’ve verified your components:

➡ Proceed to Mechanical Installation → Mounting the Spindle

Do not apply power yet.

Mechanical mounting and cable routing should be completed first.

If anything is unclear or appears incorrect, contact support before continuing. It is much easier to fix an issue before installation than after wiring is complete.
